Phoebe went to CC Keel's 6th birthday party today. Debbie and Paul had converted the entire garage into a disco party...it was awesome. And they even had a ball and turned the lights off for a dance. Phoebe gave her a Zooble. Phoenix was invited too but he had about zero interest in going to a "girl's birthday party" and I couldn't convince him.
Later that night......I don't remember there being ward temple nights announced much since we've lived here. So when I saw it on the calendar I was glad, half the stress of getting there is making the time, so to have the day planned was a relief. I spent the day making sure everything was in order, that it would go smoothly when Patrick got home from work b/c I knew he would be tired and didn't want to stress about anything. So the schedule was lined up, the babysitter arranged, the clothes laid out, dinner plans made, etc..We dropped the kids off at the Youngs' and got to the temple, only to NOT find my recommend in the place it should be. It's never not there. And when I had looked earlier to make sure it was there, it was an expired one. So I spent several minutes sifting through my bag, my purse, Patrick's wallet, the car, and all those places again and again, grimacing at friends and fellow ward members as they passed us on the way into the lobby. Went home sure to find it in the couch since Xander had dumped my wallet out on the couch a few days prior, but no, it was actually IN THE PLACE IT SHOULD BE in my bag. But I did not see it. How could I not have seen it? I felt SO STUPID!! And I felt so frustrated b/c other than last Oct., we have not been to the temple for literal years. And I wanted to make a fresh start this year and actually GET there...and regularly. So in the car I cried and Patrick said, "It's not a big deal." But I just felt like the harder I try to get there, the harder it is to actually get there. So, (sigh), I'd like to try again by the end of the month.
So, we went home and changed, and dang it we had just eaten fast food or else we would have gone out to dinner some where semi-nice. We looked up on the computer what we could possibly do on a Sat. night on short notice. Finally we decided to drive downtown to the Clark Planetarium and see a laser light show. We've seen the U-2 show, so we just got tickets for the one closest to the time we arrived, "Rock On Demand". The audience picks the songs in the show, and enjoys the accompanying 3Dish visual presentation. A lot of psychedelic, vertigo inducing visuals. It was fun. The DJ was goofy and we got to shout out and we laughed a lot. Especially about Patrick's story of his old mission companion always saying, "Where do we go now?"(Aerosmith).
Oh my gosh, we went on a DATE!! And it was so fun. I wanted to pull over and make out in the car, but we had children to pick up. I had a really good night in spite of it all.

Driaza's Date
Tonight Pablo and Tiana wanted to go out on a date and catch a movie, so we were more than happy to have the kids' good friends Mia and Coey come over and play. They could have been gone for hours more and the kids would have been in heaven! The boys played Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones and the girls made art creations, including literal charcoal drawings. Their pyro-curiosity lead them to the discovery that they could burn an almond, watch it catch on fire, and then douse it and use the char as lead. They were so excited. I also found almonds completely covered in wax.

Bee Guy!
Today I spent 3 1/2 hours and finally put together the "Bee Guy" (plane in the sky) for Xander. He is absolutely obsessed with airplanes. He points out every one he sees or hears in the sky, on TV, books, pictures, whatever. A day doesn't go by that we don't hear the excited "Bee Guy!!!" squeal from that little sweetie. So we had an airplane 2nd bday party, went to the Hill Aerospace museum, and got this multi-kid teeter totter.
My hands hurt.

Swimming Laps
Today I swam a mile! It took me 50 min. Sad. I've been going to the rec. center with my new friend, Heidi. We met her when she took some nice professional pictures of our Davin and brought some very thoughtful keepsakes and mementos made by other angel mommas to us in the hospital. She also does a support group that I like to attend to be able to meet other moms who understand what it's really like to have your baby die.
It feels good to swim (and to finally get my money's worth out of the pass). I think about Davin in the womb a lot while I'm in the pool. In the water....floating, gliding, swimming...like in the amniotic fluid, I imagine what it might have felt like in there...and move my arms and legs and try to appreciate what he felt the short time he got to enjoy his little body.

Church at new time
9am sacrament came early after our late night party, and all the kids (including Matthew) slept some through the meeting. Except Xander, who was growling at Jeff Jensen and getting giggles from everyone in earshot.
We had talks from the sister missionaries. One was a convert and made me think how strange it is that a person in modern day USA (Arizona) could grow up in a home and not know about Jesus Christ or religion.
The kids in nursery had their worst day ever and we ended up with 4 criers. We had to send the happy ones to Janet's room and go for a walk with the sad ones. When one little boy was walking with Matthew he started saying "Happy! Happy!"

New Year's Eve
New Year's Eve we had Matthew with us. His family had gone to Vegas and he wanted to stay in town for Deacon ball. We rung it in by planking all over town, ice skating on a frozen fountain, eating dinner at Leatherby's, and silly stringing each other at midnight. I had gotten 2 bottles of sparkling apple cider and put them in the fridge door. When I shut it, the entire bottom of one of the glass bottles cracked off and filled the whole door container with cider. What a crazy mess.
We had one roman candle and I got blow horns. We were cracking up as Matthew blew his as hard as he could, making a 'goose in agony' sound for all the neighbors to enjoy.
